Think Global, Act Local: Switch to 100% Renewable Electricity

Worried about Climate Change? Wondering what you can do at the local level?

One of the most impactful, easiest things to do is to switch to local renewable electricity. Home heating and cooling is a major contributor to climate change. In Sudbury we are lucky to have a way to make a difference, just a phone call (or website) away. You can power your home or business with 100% local, green electricity.

The good news is that the town of Sudbury has already selected a vendor and negotiated pricing for you through the town electricity aggregation program. You always have the option to opt out, but unless you have, you are already receiving your electricity supply from Dynegy on a contract negotiated by the town in 2017. To get the 100% renewable option, you have to contact the town’s vendor to upgrade your contract.

Here are 3 simple steps to 100% green electricity:

1. Have your Eversource customer number on hand

2. Call Dynegy at 844-864-3828, or fill out the form on the website here: https://sudbury-cea.com/opt-up-to-100-local-renewable-energy/

3. Ask to be switched to 100% local renewable green energy

Since Dynegy has no registration or cancellation fee, you are free to switch anytime. If you have a contract with another provider, there might be a delay before you can switch.

How much does 100% local green power cost? It’s less than 2.5 cents more per kilowatt hour than the default option. So, for an average home using 500kWh per month, that comes to $12.50 extra..
