Update on Community Aggregation of Electric Supply Services

Community aggregation of residential electric energy supply is awaiting approval at Mass Department of Public Utilities (DPU). A plan for Sudbury to competitively procure electric energy on behalf of its residents, Town Wide Electric Aggregation (2016 TM Article 42), was filed with the DPU last year. Sudbury joined with Arlington and Somerville to file the plan, and a DPU hearing was held in December. The DPU had routinely approved these filings, however, inexplicitly, has stalled on this and other towns’ plans.
