In 2015, Sustainable Sudbury’s Steering Committee established
the Award for Environmental Leadership, to be presented annually to a graduating Lincoln-Sudbury senior in recognition of demonstrating, through academic and extracurricular interests and activities, commitment to Sustainable Sudbury’s mission of raising environmental awareness and sponsoring sustainable, earth-friendly activities in our community and beyond. The award includes a substantial financial reward as well, to be determined annually by the committee. The committee also reserves the right, should no outstanding candidate apply, to re-issue the award to past recipients.
2015 – Grace Caltabiano
2016 – Katie Semple
Previous to the Award for Environmental Leadership, Earth Decade Committee, Sustainable Sudbury’s predecessor, established the Jane Coddington Award in memory of Jane Coddington, who co-founded the Earth Day Committee in 1990 and the Sudbury Earth Decade Committee the same year, and was a frequent guest columnist for the Town Crier until her death in 1999.
